Using MultiPlan Insurance for Rehab
What MultiPlan Means on Your Card
MultiPlan, which now operates under the name Claritev, isn’t an insurance company. It gives health plans access to provider networks such as PHCS and helps price claims. Your health plan, not MultiPlan, decides what treatment is covered and how much it pays.
Destiny Recovery Center is an out-of-network facility, but that doesn’t rule out using your benefits. If your plan includes out-of-network coverage, it may help pay for treatment here. Our admissions team can check your plan for you and explain what we find in plain language.
What Your MultiPlan Plan May Cover
Understanding Your Benefits
Plans that use MultiPlan networks often include benefits for substance use and mental health treatment. What’s covered depends on your specific plan, your out-of-network benefits, and whether your insurer finds the care medically necessary.
Many plans also require prior authorization, which is approval from your insurer before certain levels of care begin. We’ll look for that during your benefits check so nothing catches you off guard.
Coverage often extends to co-occurring mental health conditions, too. That matters here, because about nine in ten of the people we care for are also working through mental health concerns or trauma.
If you’re weighing costs and payment options, our guide on how to pay for rehab walks through the basics.
Treatment Options Available with MultiPlan
Destiny Recovery Center is a boutique, six-bed program, so care is built around you rather than a one-size-fits-all schedule. Depending on your plan and your needs, your MultiPlan benefits may help with:
- Detox with Incidental Medical Services helps you through withdrawal in a calm, home-like setting with trained staff on site around the clock.
- Residential treatment gives you a structured, live-in program with individual and group therapy in a small, family-style home.
- Dual diagnosis treatment addresses substance use alongside anxiety, depression, trauma, and other mental health concerns at the same time.
- Mental health outpatient care offers structured therapy while you live at home and step down from a higher level of care.
- Telehealth and virtual mental health treatment lets you keep working with a therapist from home after residential care.
- Aftercare keeps you connected through weekly check-ins, alumni support, and relapse prevention planning once treatment ends.
What to Expect in Treatment
Starting treatment is a big step, and knowing what’s ahead can ease some of the worry. Your first days focus on settling in, getting to know your care team, and building a plan that fits your history and goals.
Your treatment experience may include:
- Personalized counseling sessions
- Group-based support and shared experiences
- Structured therapeutic approaches
- Activities that promote physical and emotional wellness
- Skills for managing triggers and maintaining recovery
Some clients need phased phone or work access instead of a full blackout, and we can often make room for that. You can read more about daily life on our what to expect page.
Caring for Mental and Emotional Health
Recovery is about more than stopping substance use. It also means working through the stress, grief, and trauma that so often sit underneath it.
Our clinical team treats mental health and substance use together, with therapy focused on healing, resilience, and the skills you’ll lean on after you leave. You can meet the people behind that care on our Meet the Team page.
As we like to say, we’re going to love you until you love yourself.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is MultiPlan an insurance company?
No. MultiPlan, now operating as Claritev, gives health plans access to provider networks and helps price claims. Your health plan decides what’s covered, so benefit questions go to your insurer or to our admissions team.
Does MultiPlan cover addiction treatment at Destiny Recovery Center?
MultiPlan itself doesn’t cover treatment; your health plan does. Many plans include substance use and mental health benefits, and if yours has out-of-network coverage, it may help pay for care here. A free benefits check is the best way to find out.
How do I verify my MultiPlan benefits?
Contact our admissions team for a free, confidential verification. Keep your insurance card handy, and we’ll contact your plan, review your out-of-network benefits, and explain your options.
Will I need prior authorization for treatment?
Many plans require prior authorization for detox and residential care. Requirements vary from plan to plan, so we’ll check what yours needs during your benefits verification.
Are there out-of-pocket costs with MultiPlan?
Costs depend on your plan and may include a deductible, coinsurance, or the difference between what we bill and what your plan pays. We’ll explain what we find before treatment begins.
