Frequently Asked Questions

What is supportive housing in the context of addiction recovery?
Supportive housing provides a safe, structured, and sober living environment for individuals in recovery. It combines residence with ongoing support services to help residents maintain sobriety, build life skills, and transition successfully to independent living.
Supportive housing is ideal for individuals who have completed formal treatment (like detox or residential care) and need continued structure, accountability, and peer support as they work on long-term recovery goals.
Residents benefit from sober living rules, regular check-ins, life skills development, connection to outpatient therapy and community resources, and a supportive peer community focused on recovery.
Length of stay varies based on individual goals and progress. Supportive housing is meant to provide a flexible transition period—long enough to reinforce healthy habits and relapse-prevention skills before moving toward full independence.
Supportive housing shares many features with sober living but often includes more structured support services and connection to clinical care. Both emphasize a substance-free environment, accountability, and peer support, helping residents stay engaged in recovery.

A Haven for Healing and Growth

Supportive Housing

Our supportive housing is an optional service available to our outpatient clients who may need housing during treatment or wish to focus on their care away from the stressors of home and daily life. This shared living environment is located in a beautiful home in the University residential district of Redlands, CA. Nestled at the base of a scenic mountain and surrounded by scattered orchards, our home provides a serene and supportive setting for those we serve.

While staying in supportive housing, clients develop essential life and communication skills, all while building lasting and meaningful relationships with like-minded peers.

A Place to Call Home

Learn More About Supportive Housing

In supportive housing, clients develop communication skills, life skills, and accountability through household responsibilities, program rules, and daily curfews. As clients adopt healthier routines and life skills, they do so in a nurturing environment where their mental health and individual needs are prioritized. Many clients form lasting connections and expand their support systems during their time in the shared living environment. A unique bond often develops among clients from diverse backgrounds as they learn and grow together.

At Destiny Recovery, our top priority is ensuring that every client feels safe, welcomed, valued, and at home while in our care.
